What changed

// src/routes/export.ts

\+ const rows = await exportTransactions(req.user.id, req.query.range);

\+ return res.download(toCsv(rows));

Auto-drafted for review

Exporting your data as CSV

Go to Settings → Data and click Export. DocsKoala generates a CSV of your transaction history for the selected date range and downloads it directly.

Files under 10k rows download immediately. Larger exports are emailed as a link instead.

Zero setup

Every workspace gets a public help center here automatically, live the moment you publish your first article.

Not starting from zero

Already have docs? Import them.

DocsKoala isn't just automation on top of new PRs. It's a fully hosted public help center, and it doesn't have to start empty. Point it at your existing site and it scans your marketing, docs, FAQ, and support pages, then drafts your first articles before you've merged a single PR. Nothing publishes without your review. Live import is included on paid plans.

Why bother

DocsKoala vs. writing docs by hand

Nothing here is magic. It's the same docs work your team already does, just triggered by the thing that actually changed the product.

Trust & privacy

Nothing publishes without you

DocsKoala reads what changed and drafts what to say. You stay the one who decides what your customers see.

Human review gate

Every draft lands in your Review Inbox. Nothing publishes to your help center without an explicit approve click.

Per-organization isolation

Every tenant table is scoped to your organization with default-deny row-level security. Your data isn't visible to other workspaces.

Only the diff, not your repo

The pipeline reads the files changed in a merged PR, not a full export of your codebase.

You choose what's public

Drafts stay private until approved. You can edit, dismiss, or roll back any article version.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Here are some common questions about how DocsKoala keeps your help center up to date. If you don't find the answer you're looking for, feel free to reach out.

What is DocsKoala?

DocsKoala watches your merged GitHub PRs, figures out which ones are customer-facing, and drafts help article updates with AI. You review and approve in one click. Nothing publishes without a human sign-off.

How does DocsKoala know when to update my docs?

Every merged PR is classified automatically: is this change something a customer would notice? If yes, DocsKoala pulls in related existing articles, drafts the update, and drops it in your Review Inbox, usually within a minute of the merge.

Do I need to write anything myself?

Not usually. Drafts are generated straight from the code diff and PR title, then passed through an editor pass that checks for ungrounded claims and unclear writing before you ever see it. You can still edit any draft before approving.

What happens if the AI gets something wrong?

Nothing goes live automatically. Every draft, new article or update, lands as pending in your Review Inbox. You approve, edit, or dismiss it. Only an approval publishes a new article version to your help center.

Can I embed the AI assistant in my own help center?

Yes. Drop one script tag into any page and the Ask Koala widget goes live instantly, answering questions from your published docs with cited sources, always reflecting your latest approved content, never stale.

Is this just for docs, or does it help with customer support too?

Both. The Ask Koala widget answers customer questions directly, deflecting tickets before they're ever filed. DocsKoala can also connect to your existing support tools, so answers draw on real ticket history in addition to your published docs.

Which repos and PR workflows does DocsKoala support?

Connect any GitHub repo through the DocsKoala GitHub App in under two minutes. Docs can be triggered two ways: automatically on PR merge, or on demand by tagging /koala in a commit or PR description.

What exactly do I get with DocsKoala?

Three things: auto-drafted help articles pulled straight from your merged PRs, a fast public help center to host and publish them, and an embeddable AI widget that answers customer questions from your docs, all kept in sync as your product changes.

How do I get started?

Start your 7-day free trial below, no credit card required. Setup is just connecting GitHub and picking repos. Your first AI-drafted article usually appears within 60 seconds of your next merged PR.

What happens if I hit my plan's monthly article or AI answer limit?

Nothing breaks and you're never charged extra automatically. Once you hit your monthly article cap, new PRs stop generating drafts until the cap resets next billing cycle (existing published articles and your help center stay live). Once you hit your AI answer cap, the widget stops answering new questions until reset. Upgrade anytime from Settings → Billing to raise both caps immediately.

A note from the founder

“Docs rot the second I stop watching. I built DocsKoala to watch for me. It reads merged PRs and drafts your docs, automatically.”
