"very cheap, $0.19/hour per GPU, no KYC, USDT only"
i laughed. then i did the math
8 GPUs x $0.19 x 720 hours = $1,094/month per node
vs renting equivalent compute on RunPod or vast ai: ~$1.10/hour per card
so i rented 2 nodes, built a janky inference resale layer over a weekend (claude wrote 80% of it), dropped it into a small ML discord i was already in
price i charged: $0.72/hour per GPU
gross that month: ~$8,294
DC cost: $2,188
my VPS routing layer: $140
telegram chaos tax (fielding support dms at 3am): priceless
NET: somewhere around $5,900
the setup:
- they send you SSH access after USDT clears, no contract, no paperwork, nothing
- liquid cooling is REAL but the photos they sent looked like a science experiment gone wrong
- uptime was 98.3% that month, one outage killed ~$310 in revenue
- they have like 40 of these nodes apparently. family operation. dad and two sons
month 2 i scaled to 4 nodes
month 3 one of my resale clients went dark owing me $600
so yeah, not all smooth. but the margin is genuinely stupid if you have the customers
the whole thing runs on 3 python scripts, a telegram bot, and trust in a stranger from shenzhen i've never met IRL
