Keep your Mac refreshed and optimise storageA Mac cleaner that measures first

RefreshYourMac identifies what can safely be removed from your Mac. Delete it yourself, or schedule a clean daily — or whenever your free space drops below a level you set.

All of the measuring is free, before you pay for anything. And it shows you the receipt before it deletes anything.

What it found on one real Mac

The inspiration for this app was to find data that could be safely removed that other apps were not finding. The first time it ran on one of our MacBooks, we found 30GB extra to safely remove.

Schedule safe daily cleaning

Set a time and RefreshYourMac cleans the safe categories on its own — caches, logs and build data that come back by themselves. Add a floor for free space and it will also run whenever your Mac drops below it.

  • Only Safe to Remove. Never your files, never anything needing your password, and never the Trash — that is the undo for everything else.
  • You choose the categories. Any of them can be dropped from the scheduled run while staying one click away by hand.
  • Every run is written down. What it took and what it freed, in the history, so an automatic clean is never a thing that happened quietly.
  • The scheduling settings: clean automatically daily at 18:00, the next clean due 26 September at 18:00, an option to also run when free space drops below 10 GB, and a note that only Safe to Remove categories are ever taken.

The menu bar panel: a Getting full badge, 16.17 GB free of 245.11 GB on an orange bar, a note that the disk is over 85% full, 12.8 GB safe to clean beside a Clean All Safe button, one process left running in the background, and when the last automatic clean ran.

Quickly open from the menu bar

RefreshYourMac lives in the menu bar. Its icon turns orange as the disk fills and red when it is nearly gone, so you find out before a build fails rather than after.

Click it for how much is free, how much is safe to clean, anything left running in the background, and when the last automatic clean ran. Clean All Safe is right there — the window is for when you want to look at what it found.

The Dock icon appears only while that window is open, unless you ask it to stay.

    Four safety levels

The rating is what cleaning costs you, not how much it frees. It decides what the buttons are even allowed to do — a Move to Backup category has no bulk clean, whatever you click, and a Protected one has no delete at all.

What each level allows, in full →

    Safe to remove

Regenerates on its own. Nothing of value is lost.

    Review

Costs a rebuild, a re-download or an app restart. Worth a look before you clean it.

    Move to Backup

Your data. Move it to another drive, or pick items one at a time.

    Protected

Cannot be deleted here. It shows you what to do instead.

    Scanning is free.

Two ways to pay to clean: €19.99 a year, or €39.99 once.

Measure your Mac, see every category rated and listed, and decide whether any of it is worth paying to remove — before you pay anything. A licence is what lets the app act on what it found. Pay once and it is yours, or pay yearly if you would rather start smaller. The same two options, at the same prices, are in the Mac App Store version.
