| iNoU Agent for VS Code Use several LLMs from one chat, stay in control of every change, and stop wasting tokens on vague prompts. 
✨ Why iNoU ⚡ Asks before it guesses (Specifi-Meter): every prompt is scored locally while you type. When a task is too vague, iNoU asks one multiple-choice question instead of sending a guess to a model. 🐝 The right model for each task (AUTO): questions go to a fast model; refactors, planning, debugging and multi-file fixes go to the most capable one. If a provider fails, another answers and the chat tells you. You can also pick the model per chat. 🔍 You approve every change: code changes arrive as diffs you preview and apply in one click. After applying, iNoU reports the remaining IDE errors and can compile the touched projects for you. READ-MODE blocks file changes until you switch to WRITE-MODE. 🧠 Context without copy-paste: a local code graph (Tree-sitter: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, C#, Java, Go, Rust, PHP), @ file mentions, files named in your prompt, compiler errors and the git diff when you ask about changes. Models can also read workspace files through read-only tools. 👀 See who did what: a live progress list while the turn runs, then a tag per step (intent, routing, context, plan, answer) naming the node or model that did it. 📊 Know what you spend (/status): tasks per node, tokens per model, and the tokens iNoU saved by answering itself or using a first-level model. 🔗 Tickets and PRs in the chat: Trello, Jira and GitHub through slash commands that never call a model. 💾 Local-first and crash-safe: chats, the prompt queue and attachments stay in VS Code storage. Prompts sent while a task runs are queued; if VS Code closes mid-answer, /recover picks it up. 
🚀 Getting started Click the iNoU icon in the Activity Bar and accept the short iNoU agreement (nothing runs before that). Open Config ▸ LLM models and add a Google Gemini and/or Anthropic Claude API key, or enable GitHub Copilot (inou.enableCopilotDetection). Keys are verified with their provider before they are saved. Organization-wide Anthropic keys also need the Workspace ID (wrkspc\_…). Type your instruction. Use @ to mention files, check files in Files, or attach images and documents. Review the proposed changes in the diff preview and apply them. iNoU is BYOK: it needs at least one configured model (a Gemini or Claude key, or Copilot). 
⌨️ Chat commands Commands starting with / are handled by iNoU itself: no model, no tokens. Only the task commands at the end of the table go to a model. Environment variables are never read. Without git: files modified in the last 24 hours (up to 5 files / 12,000 characters) Coding tasks also send what is needed to write the change: language-server errors, the files they point to and their same-name siblings, files named in the prompt or requested by the plan — up to 10 files / 40,000 characters, never .env\*, node\_modules, build output or tests. Workspace tools (list\_files, read\_file, git\_diff, get\_diagnostics, graph\_query) follow the same rules, up to 60,000 characters per answer. Every prompt, file and tool call is listed in the LOG tab, e.g. \[CONTEXT\] Sent to the model: project and branch · 2 checked file(s). Every few days (inou.colmenaSelfAssessmentRefreshDays, default 7) each configured model gets one short self-assessment prompt with no project data. The iNoU backend is used only for the optional account (sign-in, preferences, synced chat list) and the MCP tool calls you trigger. Prompt content never goes there; prompt scoring runs locally.
