Overview
Turn off swearing, slurs, like counts, Reels, Shorts and ads on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube. Free, no account.
Off is a profanity filter and a set of switches for Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube. Flip one and the thing it names is gone from the feed, on your own computer. It stars out swear words and hides any post or comment that carries a slur. Free, no account, nothing sent anywhere. The switches hide like, view, share and comment counts, and on YouTube the counts on video and Shorts pages; the post stays. They block the Reels and Shorts pages, with the Reels tray on Facebook and the Shorts shelf on YouTube. They hide the Stories row, "Suggested for you", "People you may know", "Who to follow" and the right column; the search box stays. Marketplace and Groups leave the Facebook menus, and the Marketplace pages and the Groups feed are hidden. Ads are found by the platform's own label, in thirteen languages, and only what Off can name as an ad is hidden. You can remove emoji and hide posts by hashtag: the list it comes with covers AI-made posts such as #aimade, posts made to upset you or make you angry, and posts about starving yourself. Add your own words, phrases and accounts, in any language, or point at almost anything on a page and it goes, and stays gone when it comes back. Each filter switch and rule shows how many times it has fired. Put a site on break, set quiet hours, and lock the settings with a PIN. Every switch is a fixed rule, so Off is instant and predictable. What it keeps stays on your device: your settings and lists, what you chose to block, a few counts, and a PIN only as a one-way code. It asks for storage and for access to those five sites, nothing else. It stays out of private messages and records nothing you scroll past. It speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Romanian, and starts with four switches on: No swearing, like counts, Reels and Shorts, and ads. Free, no account, no card.
