How to play

Back

The shot

  • Press and hold on empty space to grow a black hole. Let go to place it.
  • Tap a hole to change its mass with − and + (or the − + keys, or scroll over it). Drag it, or use the arrow keys, to move it. Tab picks a hole from the keyboard. Double-tap, middle-click or × to delete.
  • The flight plan shows the start of your ship's path, then fades out. The rest is your read of the gravity. A red X means it crashes early.
  • Launch. Gravity does the rest.
  • Steer a little mid-flight: hold the mouse or your finger to push toward it, or hold an arrow key to push the ship that way on screen. You get half a second of RCS fuel: enough to nudge, not to rescue. A shot with no steering pays a small pure gravity bonus.

    • Par is mass

  • Every hole has a par in solar masses (SM). Dock using less gravity than par for a birdie, eagle or albatross.
  • Retries are free. Crash, miss, tweak, relaunch. Only your winning shot counts, and you can always try again for a better score.
  • Stuck? Turn on the caddie in Settings and it sets up a safe line (it costs credits on tour).

    • Career

  • Start as a Private. Win holes to earn XP and credits, and climb to Galactic Space Emperor.
  • Each sector is a starmap. Pick your route through holes, uncharted holes, elite holes, shops and anomalies.
  • A rival guards the end of every sector. Beat their mass to move on.
  • Spend credits on sponsor deals (upgrades for this career) and ship parts (yours forever).
  • Every hole has three medals: Star Sweep (every star), Pure Gravity (no RCS) and Blitz (beat the clock). They go on your service record for good, and each one banks ✪ 1 to spend at a shop's quartermaster.

    Hazards

  • Planets and moons pull, and they're solid.
  • Wild black holes pull hard. Cross a horizon and you're spaghetti.
  • White holes push you away.
  • Wormholes send you out of their twin at the same speed.
  • Asteroids are solid and have no pull.

    • Objectives

  • Dock: reach the station's ring.
  • Delivery: collect every cargo pod first. The station stays locked until then.
  • Orbit: complete one lap inside the gold ring.
  • Figure 8: a lap around one world, then a lap the other way around its twin.
